This is mythbuntu based on LTS Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. One of some major changes from mythbuntu 7.10 which should be highlighted is MythTV improvements has been upgraded to 0.21.
Major changes

Added Storage Groups. This allows multiple recording directories, where each storage group is a list of directories.

Added Watch List feature to Watch Recordings listing programs most useful to watch in order to catch up on series and shows you have fallen behind in watching.

Added support for QAM recording using HDHomeRun device. Requires firmware 21-09-2006 or newer (Note this was also back ported to 0.20.2).

New official plugins:

MythMovies: provides show times and cinema listings based on Zip/Post code and a given radius.

MythZoneMinder: ZoneMinder is a system for monitoring CCTV cameras. It uses a web interface which doesn’t work very well on a MythTV only system so the plugin provides a remote friendly interface to some of the functions provided by ZM.

Added auto discovery of MythTV servers/frontends

Reduced mythfrontend memory consumption by upto 75% depending on theme and resolution.

requires MySQL 5.0

Allows multiple recordings with one DVB/ATSC card if the channels are in the same multiplex (Multirec)

Enhancements for multi channel audio (up-converting stereo, re-encoding to AC3 in time stretch mode)

Added the ability to continue playing music in the background.

Added a channel icon download facility to mythtv-setup.

For more info on MythTV here is the link.

New release from Zenwalk.

Zenwalk Live 5.0, a live edition of the Slackware-based Zenwalk Linux distribution, has been released: “Zenwalk Live 5.0 is ready! Based on the ‘current’ repository, the new Zenwalk Live features all the latest secure and stable versions of Zenwalk 5.0 standard packages. With this release, it is also our great pleasure to present Zen Installer which will enable you to install a standard Zenwalk system onto your computer’s hard drive. Now, if you first use Live Clone to remaster your own live CD and then execute Zen Installer from that remastered live CD, you will install your own customized version of Zenwalk rather than the standard edition. This is very helpful if you need to deploy a highly personalized Zenwalk system on the computer park of a school, a cybercafé, an office or an organization. As always, Zenwalk Live 5.0 also offers extended multilingual, multimedia and WiFi support.”

“Slax 6.0.3 has been released. Among all the updates described in the changelog, it features a bug-fix for Squashfs LZMA kernel driver. What’s new? Added kernel 2.6.24.3 with kernel headers, stripped sources and modules all using the same version, to prevent any possible mismatch; silenced several boot-up messages; added wpa_suplicant; updated to Slackware Current which adds new firmware; fixed a bug in sqlzma, which may cause data read errors; the ’sgnfile’ boot parameter wasn’t working, it’s fixed now; make_iso.sh now works even if called from a different directory; fixed loading of modules from subdirectories while using copy2ram; the ‘nocd’ boot parameter has different meaning now, it will cause CD-ROM to be skipped, but made visible later on.”
