Ubuntu issues first Dapper Drake maintenance update 
Ubuntu release manager Colin Watson Aug. 10 announced the availability of Ubuntu 6.06.1, an updated version of Ubuntu that includes more than 300 bug and security fixes for the original “Dapper Drake,” released on June 1.

Put your laptop to sleep

ACPI sleep is defined as a state where the system is still technically powered on, but the screen and hard disk are powered down and the computer is using just enough power to keep the contents of RAM alive.
